關(guān) 良?1900年生于廣東番禹。1917年隨兄東渡日本，先后入川端研究所師從畫家藤島武二，轉(zhuǎn)入“太平洋畫會(huì)”師從中村不折先生學(xué)習(xí)美術(shù)。1923年畢業(yè)于東京太平洋美術(shù)學(xué)院。歸國(guó)后，相繼任教于上海美術(shù)專科學(xué)校、上海師范學(xué)校、廣州美術(shù)學(xué)校、重慶國(guó)立藝專等。曾任上海中國(guó)畫院畫師、浙江美院教授、中國(guó)美術(shù)家協(xié)會(huì)理事、上海分會(huì)副主席。1957年與李可染一起赴德國(guó)友好訪問，萊比錫“伊姆茵采爾”出版公司為他出版畫冊(cè)。“文革”后在上海舉辦“關(guān)良回顧展”。1981年關(guān)良在香港辦展，并且在港中大做講演。1984年3月，關(guān)良應(yīng)黃青新的邀請(qǐng)，赴美國(guó)紐約考察和訪問，并在黃青新家中居住。訪美期間，關(guān)良在紐約舉辦了藝術(shù)生涯中最后一個(gè)個(gè)展。
Guan Liang was born in Panyu, Guangdong province in 1900. At the age of 17, he went to Japan with his brother and studied art under the instruction of Takeji Fujishima in Kawabata Institution and later Fusetsu Nakamura in Pacific Art Association. In 1923, he graduated from Tokyo Pacific Academy of Art. After returning to China, he served teaching positions in Shanghai Normal School, Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts, Guangzhou Art School and National Art Academy of Chongqing successively. He was also a professional artist in Shanghai Academy of Chinese Painting, professor with China Academy of Art, council member of China Artists Association and Vice Chairman of China Artists Association, Shanghai Branch. In 1957, he, along with Li Keran, visited Germany and his book was published in Leipzig. After the Cultural Revolution, 'Retrospective of Guan Liang' was staged in Shanghai. In 1981, Guan held his exhibition in Hong Kong and delivered a speech at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. In March, 1984, invited by Huang Qingxin, he visited New York and stayed at Huang's home. During his stay in the United States, Guan held his last exhibition there in New York.
